SUCCESS STORIES

Clover came to JCARL as a stray and due to his wonderful temperament was adopted by a loving family.  His family says "He is such a lover! He fits right in with our menagerie of cats, dogs, bunnies, hamsters, and horses.  Thank you so much!"  THANK YOU Clover's family for giving this wonderful dog a new fur-ever home!
Gale came in as a stray with such a loving character.  Gale's family says " Gale is my big baby!!!! I think she likes her new home!"  We think so, too!

Tanner's new family says "He is a sweetheart....Have re-named him Charlie! He seems to like that name better."  Congrats to a happy family!

Donations to the Medicine Fund help dogs like Maddy, a 2 year old terrier mix, who came in as a stray completely matted and partially missing an eye. She had to have surgery to completely remove her eye and her recovery was in a caring foster home.  Maddy found a wonderful fur-ever home and we wish her all the best!
Furball was a stray and his new owner says "My new puppy loves him and he gets along with Gizzy, baby and all the animals we have."  Sounds like he is in a great place.  Congrats to Furball and family!
Silva was a 6-year-old miniature Schnauzer who loved to cuddle and enjoyed playing with other dogs.  We think Silva may get a little spoiled in her new fur-ever home.  :)
Brownie Adopt
Brownie was a stray when he came to JCARL and graduated as one of our Pups on Parole.  He's one smart dog!  Soon after he was adopted by this wonderful family!  Congrats, Brownie and new family!
Looks like Ziggy is in for some fun with his new dad.  Congrats to Ziggy and his fur-ever family!
Shy little 9-year-old Kelli got a new mommy on Mother's Day!  Is that a match made in Heaven or what?  Congrats Kelli and new mom!
Jo Jo was a young mastiff/retriever mix who came into the shelter as a stray.  She normally had a lot of energy, but it looks like she met her match with her new fur-ever family.  This soon to be large dog has a family with big hearts!  Thank you for giving her a fur-ever home.
Duke was a 2-year-old terrier mix who loved to play and go on car rides.  He is a happy fella now with his new fur-ever family!
Jay Jay was a happy, energetic coon hound with lots of love to share and it looks like his new fur-ever family can definitely reciprocate that feeling in large quantities.  His new mom says "We are so thankful to have Jay Jay as the newest member of our family!"  And we at JCARL are thankful to Jay Jay's new family for giving him a loving home!
Baby was a 1 year old Pit Bull with a lot of energy.  She was at the shelter for about a month and a half and couldn't wait to go home.  Did we mention that she enjoys car rides?  Thank you to Baby's new fur-ever family!
Gabby was a 2 year old Lab who came in as a stray.  She had a great disposition and loved to play ball.  Congrats to Gabby's new fur-ever home!
An 8-year-old English Sheep Dog named Sweet'ums came in as an owner surrender special needs dog with the beginnings of hip displasia.  The diagnosis did not deter this family in giving Sweet'ums a new fur-ever home that will give him much love and attention for the rest of his life.  Thank you to Sweet'ums' fur-ever family!

Bussie (aka Suzi) and Lily (aka Billy Jean) came in as owner surrenders and went home with an adorable duo.  Can you imagine the love and play time these two (dogs and girls) will have?  Congrats to these sweet dogs' new fur-ever family!!

Boy, did these three precious Yorkies cause a scramble to adopt!!  Close to 106,000 people saw this post on Facebook and they were inquirying about them from all over the U.S. and beyond!   Needless to say, they all found their fur-ever homes!  Thank you, friends for sharing their photos.

Smokey was a 2-year-old, long-haired kitty who was picked up as a stray with 3 legs. She was at JCARL for 4 long months.  Her new mom says, "She's my baby now! Heart stolen as soon as I held her. She has a 16-year-old brother & she is a little timid yet but she had been at the League quite awhile. She is now home & will be forever!"  This kitty holds a special place in the JCARL staffs' and volunteers' hearts and we are so happy she is finally home!!

Foxy, the Pomeranian on the right, was adopted at our March 9, 2013 adoption event at Petco in Clive. She was a 5 year old owner surrender and was a special needs dog with a right sided heart murmur which did not slow her down. This made her special to her new family who couldn't wait to take her to her forever home.
Bridget, a tuxedo cat, was also adopted at the March 9, 2013 adoption event at Petco in Clive. She was about 6-7 months old when she came to the shelter as a stray and was very shy. She made great progress as witnessed by many at the event. Her new adoptive daddy was rewarded with many kisses on his nose when he met her and she went home with a very happy forever family.
